Having worked in the city for many years, the founding partners realised, from their own experience of transferring funds, that there had to be a better, more efficient way to handle these transactions.

And so – in 2010 PlutusFX was set up to do just that and provide a transparent and cost effective alternative for foreign exchange services offered by the High Street Banks.

With technology at the core, we aim to provide a simple and transparent service to both individuals and corporates alike.

The Team

Bill Newton – Director

Bill has extensive operational experience within financial trading companies having worked in the industry for over 20 years. Bill co-founded ODL securities, a derivatives, equities and FX brokerage. He held a number of senior management roles at the company Including IT Director. He has also designed a number of realtime risk and regulatory reporting systems and with as responsible for all back-office development.

Phil Barry – Director

Having worked in both the Financial and Property sectors Phil joined JPT Monaco in 2009 to help manage the foreign exchange exposure of the company portfolio. Phil also played an active role in founding of Plutus FX and was invited to join the board in November 2014.

Terry Everson – Director

Terry Everson has worked in the City for over 40 years. Initially with commodity brokers R.J.Rouse and A.C. Israel Woodhouse. With the launch of LIFFE he was with Cresvale Securities then Credit Lyonnais Rouse. Terry became Managing Director of Swiss Financial Services / Marshall French and Lucas which had floor teams on all markets at London Fox and the IPE. He was a founding committee member of the Financial Traders & Brokers Network (FTBN).

John Paul Thwaytes – Consultant

As former chairman JohnPaul remains a consultant to the board.

Early in his City career John Paul was head dealer at Bailey Shatkin, Baring Securities and Mees Pierson. He then founded and became chairman of ODL Securities one of the most important independent market makers in derivatives, foreign exchange, fixed income products and capital markets and was responsible for the strategic development of the group. JP is currently president of JPT Monaco which is involved in mergers and acquisitions and restructuring businesses.
JP is a Freeman of the City of London.
